This page describes how to login to ACE using your token, to gain access to our collection of accessible texts.
Logging in
In order to log into ACE, please bookmark or save the following login link:
On the login page, you will need to enter your token in order to access ACE. A token is a unique string of ten letters and numbers which you are assigned by your school’s accessibility department. Please save this token in a secure place so you can easily find it when you need to log in, and never share your token with anyone. If you do not have a token or have lost yours, please get in touch with your local ACE coordinator.
Once you have entered your token, you will also need to agree with the ACE terms of service before proceeding. Please read through each of the statements, then acknowledge your agreement using the checkbox at the bottom. When you are ready, click the Submit button.
You will be taken to a page confirming that you have successfully logged into ACE. Click the Click here to continue link to get to the main ACE interface, where you will now be able to explore the collection.
Staying logged in
Once you have logged into ACE, the system should usually keep you logged in until you close your browser. However, depending on your Internet connection, your browser settings, and the amount of time your browser has been idle, sometimes you may unintentionally get logged out.
You may notice you have been logged out when you click on a book. If you are not logged in, no download links will appear on the page. You may also notice the message displayed above the cover image, which says This is an ACE book. To download, click here to log in with your token. To log back in, simply click on the button.
Alternatively, if you have been logged out, an ACE button will also appear in the top right-hand corner of the page. You can click this link to log back into ACE. After you log in successfully, you should see a link back to the book you were looking at.
If you still cannot open a book after logging back in, it is possible that your school does not have access to the book. Remember, ACE includes books for many schools across Ontario, but you will only have access to books that your library owns (see the FAQs for more information about this). If you have any more questions, please get in touch with your local ACE coordinator.
